The amount of data and data sources to be examined in criminal cases is increasing rapidly. In order to increase the effectiveness and speed of this investigation, the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI) has developed the Hansken forensic service. Hansken's goal is to give the right people, at the right time, access to the right information.
With Hansken, a research team can quickly and efficiently search large quantities of confiscated data carriers such as computers and mobile phones. Anything that may be relevant can be searched for, for example, by words and names or characteristics of traces such as instant messages, emails or photos whether or not taken with a certain camera.
