Dex-XL 2022

November 8

1. The Hansken SDK - how does it work and what can you do with it?

  • Time: 10.50– 12.40
  • Room: ntb
  • Level: **
  • Language: Dutch
  • Law Enforcement Only: No
  • Speakers: Harm van Beek and Hans Henseler

Hansken is an open platform for digital forensics. This means, among other things, that Hansken is open source  and that users can extend and integrate Hansken with other systems themselves. The Hansken SDK (software development kit) contains all documentation, samples and a Hansken academic run-time version that can be installed on a single machine so that researchers and developers can experiment with Hansken. The workshop explains how to get the Hansken SDK, how to install it and explains some basic principles such as working with Hansken.py and Hansken extraction plugins.

2. The Hansken Community: facilities that support digital forensic investigations

  • Time: 11.20 – 12.00
  • Room: S73.1N
  • Level: *
  • Language: Dutch
  • Law Enforcement Only: Yes
  • Speakers: Kristien Siemons and Hans Henseler

Besides the Hansken software, there lies a lot of value in the support surrounding Hansken. There are various facilities for this Community that make working with Hansken easier and more accessible, and also contribute to more insight into digital investigation in general. During this workshop we will demonstrate the various facilities, such as the new Hansken Community Portal and the methods and components of the Hansken Academy. Users will also share experiences. So if you've been to this workshop, you'll know more about the places where you can quickly pick up relevant knowledge and how and where you can learn from the way others have done it.

3. Discover more about the new Hansken User Interface (HUIB)

  • Time: 13.10 - 14.10
  • Room: ntb
  • Level: *
  • Language: Dutch
  • Law Enforcement Only: yes
  • Speakers: Martin and Pim

We are working on a new tactical interface in Hansken, HUIB. An intuitive way to query your data in Hansken with accessible queries, labels and smart classifications. This UI approaches the data in a way that is inspired by the investigative approach of other forensic packages. In addition, many concepts and techniques have been added that make examining data easier for the forensic investigator, analyst or expert. This UI will soon be available to the entire Hansken Community and is for users ranging from beginner to advanced. In this workshop, the working method of HUIB is presented. What are the principles? How do you approach your data, find answers and what do you find where? In a few simple steps you will learn to find your way in this new interface that will be included with Hansken shortly. So an hour well spent!

November 9

4. AI in Hansken - what do we have now and what can we do more?

  • Time: 10.30 – 11.30
  • Level: *
  • Language: Dutch
  • Law Enforcement Only: Yes
  • Speakers: Isadora Ellis and Simone Ariens

'Hansken.AI. For everyone who wants to contribute to the future of Hansken.' Because AI is the future, but definitely also the present. So, we would like to show what AI models Hansken is already using, but besides that: what other wishes and ideas do we have? In this workshop we share where we are now and we also like to take the opportunity to collect ideas from the field! So if you join this workshop, on the one hand you will get an idea of the upcoming innovations in the world of digital investigation, and on the other  you can also provide input!
